For if, after they have escaped the pollutions of the world
through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus
Christ, they are again entangled in them and overcome,
the latter end is worse for them than the beginning.” – 2 Peter 2:20
Peter was speaking about speaking about false prophets and then he spoke of those who began to live their lives according to Gods’ way and their lives began to change for the better. This shows that Gods’ way is the better way. Just as salt is used to stop decay, a person’s life an stop going in a downward spiral and get better. They have escaped the pollution of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. They again become entangled in the pollution of the world that they have overcome. Now their condition is worse for them than it was when they first began. This happened because they had a intellectual knowledge of God and not an experiential knowledge. They did not have the power to resist the world. This kind of power can only be found in Jesus Christ. What kind of knowledge to you have? Have you experienced Jesus Christ? You can have a relationship with Jesus Christ. If you believe Jesus is the Son of God and that hHe died for your sins, and that God raised Him from the dead you shall be saved.
